Wow, damn man that just wasn't long enough, it was short and they say that goods things come in small packages. Yup, truly epic. Is there any possibility you could consider making a longer version of this!? I can imagine the possibilities but would love to hear where you would go next from this starting point!

4 / 5 cos it wasn't long enough

JoshuaHughes responds:

All in due time, friend.

Apparently, I might enjoy "Not a lamp" and "Teach the world to fap" (written whilst I listened and formulated my review)

I can totally see this working amazing well in a movie, animated or otherwise. it has a feeling of tension throughout the piece, coming and going. a nice selection of instruments, overall this is a really good soundscape. I have images flashing through my mind of settings and scenes this would suit.

added to by the introduction of a woman coughing?

It certainly adds to the overall feeling, maybe of something apocalyptic!

Someone should make a flash just because this exists, let the artists imagination take reign

Really like this, keep it up

Well hello there.

Apparently you're unscouted, which I think is supposed to limit you and your account or something! ?

Anyway, just checking through the audio portal, after submitting my own latest piece and I thought I'd pay the unscouted artists section a once over.

I have to say, this, although it's really short, it's really, very good. very uplifing melody, both the bass line and the melody work awesomely, just enough beats and percussion to keep the piece plodding along nicely.

Just 2 words of advice, please make this piece longer it's awesome, or just make more music :-)

And, master this track, needs some EQing, other than that, it's great.

Oh, also, Im going to Scout you! be good!!!

Hey mhb

I thought I'd come check this out.

I like fusions and I like the fact you've had a go at one. It's not terrible, there's a lot going on here and I think because of that it becomes a little messy as there's a lot to listen to and a bit too much overlap of sounds, perhaps a little more eq required, although I bet, from the sound of it it was probably rather difficult to eq. I know I struggle in that area sometimes, where there's too many sounds occupying the same frequency range.

But hats off, you've had a go, it's pretty good, quite energetic and maybe you'll try some more fusions in the future?

How has this got such a low score? This is pretty good. I like the song and Miranda' vocals, she has a really nice voice.

The piece overall has a nice uplifting feel, good selection of instruments and effects and a good amount of diversity.

5/5

Overall, nice sounding piece. with a good selection of instruments.

The start of the song has nice effects, the melody that follows that introduction is rather nice and sounds good with the bass playing the same tune.

I think you need more variation though, the same melody seems to play throughout, from start to finish, albeit on seemingly different instruments and they sound good. Just need to change it up a bit.

Could do with some work on mastering, I feel the kicks need a bit more oomph. It's a little muddy sounding.

But yeah, overall I like it

GreaserOfficial responds:

I see. Yes, I often struggle with having a good variety of melodies that all sort of fit into the same song. I'll be sure to work on that. Maybe I'll remaster this song sometime, because yeah I see what you're saying; the beat seems a little weak.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Nice interpretation!

It has a good vibe and the vocals sound pretty good too.

Any idea when you might be uploading the finished piece? I wanna hear the whole thing now :'(

I'll be back to hear the complete piece, lemme know when it's uploaded

Cheers!

Bafana responds:

Thanks :D

With any luck you'll come back to find it's been signed to a major label :P

This is extremely good, really like it. Do like a good bit of dubstep, awesome use of the sample.

Keep them tunes coming!

Wow, I quite like this, it's pretty chill, wish it could have been longer, don't get why you've got such a low score for this. I've attempted something glitchy before but it sounded nothing like this.

What software do you use?

5/5

Awesome

Hey man I just saw you place an advert in that thread.

I was curious, I haven't seen you round the forums before so I thought I'd come check our your piece!

I like it, reverse cymbal kick and I thought that's a cool opening, I've heard it before but not all too often. It came as a pleasant surprise.

Now before I go on, I'm gonna say this: I read your response to the last review and about how you name your FL files as you progress, that's exactly what I do. there's a better way to do that, which is: File, Save new version

saves hassle, it puts a number on the end of your current version!

anyway on with the review ;)

I would have put this under Trance more than Dance, but no biggy, it's gonna make people get up and strut their stuff! and it got me dancing in my seat! distracting me from typing >:(

The Melodies in this were pretty hot too!

Awesome job man! Keep up the great work!

Peace Out!

Jebbal responds:

Thanks, I'll take a look at the save new version thing next time I'm messing around in FL. =)

Hmmm ya I wasn't sure what genre to put this in... I just though "Well, the song makes me wanna dance... OH THERE'S A GENRE CALLED DANCE!" lol So ya, I just stuck it in there.

Dance was closer than techno though, right? I put the first version in techno. xD

Thanks for noticing the melodies! I took my time and tried to come up with something unique and catchy. Lots of notes on the offbeat in the main chorus, I like that.

Thanks muchos for the review man! Means a lot to me!
